From 1 to 12 March 1984 I participated in the IDA industrial promotion tour in the United States, during the course of which I visited a number of cities and important industrial centres. While I was there, I also availed myself of the opportunity to have a number of meetings with leading Irish-American trade union leaders.
It is not possible to give a total estimated cost of the trip to my Department at this stage. The Minister of State has made no trips abroad which were of cost to my Department.
