Refunds under the drugs refund scheme are made on drugs and medicines prescribed by a registered medical practitioner and dispensed by a qualified pharmacist through a retail pharmacy. Homeopathic medicines are not usually obtained in this manner and consequently do not come within the ambit of the scheme.
