The primary responsibility for cruel sports under the Cruelty to Animals Acts, 1911 and 1965, rests with the Minister for Justice. As far as particular aspects such as hare coursing are concerned I would refer the Deputy to my reply in the Dáil on 1 March 1984 to questions by Deputies Shatter and S. Brennan.
