asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is his intention to have the land in the ownership of the Land Commission in County Galway divided among farmers in accordance with the time-scale indicated to the House last year; if he will put on record again what this time-scale was; and if he will now indicate the length it will take before approximately 1,000 acres, now held by the Land Commission, will be divided.

It is expected that the time scale set out in my reply of 23 June 1983 will be met. The estimated area of land to be allotted in County Galway this year is 700 hectares.
