Limerick East): The precise arrangements for the policing of any particular area are a matter for the local Garda officers, having regard to available resources, local circumstances and other demands on Garda services. The Garda authorities state that, since the beginning of 1983, five vehicles were taken from the flats complex without authority. Those vehicles were later recovered. In addition there were some cases of unauthorised interference with motor vehicles. The Garda also state that the area in which the flats complex is situated receives regular Garda attention from both foot and mobile patrols.
