I am informed by the IDA that they are actively promoting their 24,500 sq. ft. advance factory and the 2 × 3,000 sq.ft. small factory units provided by private finance in Bantry for suitable industrial development in the town.
I would point out that manufacturing employment in Bantry has increased by 5 per cent over the past two years, which is contrary to the national trend.
