As regards non-capital financing the position is that an annual overall allocation is approved for the Western Health Board. The apportionment of the overall allocation between the various service areas is a matter for the health board, taking account of any guidelines issued from my Department.
The allocation provided for the Western Health Board in respect of expenditure on services provided directly by the board, including its share of the expenses of the General Medical Services (Payments) Board, was as follows in each of the years mentioned:
