Vol. 349 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal All-Irish School.

6.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give an assurance that money will be provided for the continuation of the all-Irish secondary school at Ballinamore, County Donegal.

The provision made in the Estimates for 1984 allows for the continuation of operation of the school in question under County Donegal Vocational Education Committee. I may add that the question of such continuation will be subject to review by my Department towards the end of the current school-year 1983-84 taking into account all relevant considerations, including the anticipated enrolment of pupils in the school.

Does the Minister consider that special discrimination in favour of such schools should continue?

Yes, there is already positive discrimination in favour of these schools and, obviously, it is continuing.
