asked the Minister for Education the progress if any she has made on the provision of extra classrooms to Murlog school, Lifford, County Donegal.

A sketch scheme and costings prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works for the proposed extension to Murlog national school, Lifford is at present under consideration by my Department. My Department will be communicating shortly with the school authorities about these matters and also about the question of the local contribution and extension of the site which will be necessary if the additional building is to be accommodated.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to allocate moneys for the provision of a gym and sports field at the Rosses community school, Dungloe, County Donegal.

It is intended to provide a physical education hall at the Rosses community school, Dungloe, County Donegal. It is not possible at this stage to say when construction will be commenced. The timescale for the provision of the hall will be reviewed in the light of other commitments and priorities when the capital allocation for 1985 is known. The development of a sports field on the school site is a matter for the board of management in the first instance. My Department have already paid a grant to the Rosses community school towards the cost of developing their playing pitches.
