Written Answers. - Finglas West (Dublin) School.

570.

asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that the plan for a sports hall and extension to Scoil Íde, Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West, was received by her Department on 15 December 1983.

571.

asked the Minister for Education the reason the Stage 2 plans for Scoil Íde, Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West, sent to her Department in December have still not been passed.

572.

asked the Minister for Education if she will ensure that Stage 2 plans for the extension of Scoil Íde, Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West, and all remaining stages will be moved by her Department at maximum speed in order that these much needed facilities will be available as soon as possible.

573.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware that the plans for an extension to Scoil Íde, Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West, and for the provision of a sports hall are due for completion and opening in September 1985 and that departmental delays are endangering this schedule and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 570 to 573, inclusive, together.

My Department have approved, in principle, a proposal by the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee to develop Finglas girls vocational school, Scoil Íde, by way of an extension which includes a physical education hall.

The outline design proposals for the project were received in my Department on 6 January 1984. Following examination of these proposals in my Department, a meeting was held on February 16 with the committee's representatives and the design team to discuss necessary revisions. The revised proposals were received in my Department on March 6 and are at present being examined. When the examination is completed, my Department will be in touch with the committee regarding further progress.

There has been no avoidable delay on my Department's part in dealing with design proposals in this case and the Deputy may take it that my Department will process the further stages of planning as expeditiously as possible.
