I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that it was necessary to refer the claims to repayment of VAT from the person concerned for audit to the inspector of taxes. The inspector had previously disallowed the claims but has since reallowed them in a reduced amount and cheques in settlement were issued to the trader on 22 March 1984.

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they have no record of receipt of a claim to repayment of value-added tax in this case. A form on which a refund may be claimed has been issued.
