The application in question relates to a major construction project. The sponsors estimate that it would take a workforce of 28 two years to complete the proposed building.
With effect from 1 January, major construction projects were, for a number of reasons, excluded from the youth employment scheme. It is possible, however, that the project could qualify for assistance under the AnCO community youth training programme. I have arranged to pass the application to AnCO but I suggest that the committee should also contact the manager of the Galway AnCO training centre.
