An application from the school in question for the allocation of an additional teaching post as a special resource to enable it to cater for the second-level educational needs of mildly mentally handicapped pupils who have been enrolled in special classes in national schools is currently under consideration in my Department. A decision on the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.
