My Department's investigations into the problem of the mussel fishery in the Boyne Estuary is still continuing. Analysis of mussel samples taken from the fishery within the past week or so provided encouraging results indicating that meat yields are rising and in some cases reaching marketable levels. I will let the Deputy know of the results arising from my Department's investigations as soon as possible.
