742.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware that the sports hall approved by her Department at the Clifden community school, Connemara, County Galway, is too small to allow for basket-ball games to be played in it; and if she will approve a larger hall in this case in view of the number of pupils attending the school.

743.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give full details regarding the proposed sports hall for Clifden community school, Connemara, County Galway.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 742 and 743 together.

The hall approved for Clifden community school is the largest hall which may be provided from educational funds for a school of its size. The hall will comprise 252m² (18m×14m) plus changing rooms and showers of 104m² (14.4m×7.2m).
