Vol. 350 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

714.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The person named is ineligible for cattle headage grants under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes as his off-farm income exceeded £3,500 for the income tax year ended 5 April 1983.

715.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if cattle headage grants for the years 1979 to 1983, inclusive, will be paid immediately to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Cattle headage applications from the person named will be processed as soon as he replies to requests to submit his income tax assessment forms for tax years ended 5 April 1978 to 5 April 1983 inclusive.

716.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a sheep subsidy will be paid immediately to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his sheep headage and ewe premium grants shortly.

717.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

My Department is unable to trace any application for headage grants from the person named. A person with the same surname and address, however, has already been paid cattle headage and calf premium grants and will be paid suckler cow premium in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

718.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the position in regard to an application for a farm modernisation grant in respect of a road improvement made by a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

It is a condition for the payment of grants to development farmers under the farm modernisation scheme that an extract of farm accounts is submitted for each year of the plan.

As the applicant in this case is a development farmer, the grant cannot be paid until the necessary extract for the accounting year ended 30 June 1983 has been furnished. The extract should be furnished to the local ACOT office not later than 31 July 1984, failing which grant aid in respect of the works carried out will be paid at the low rate and the applicant will lose entitlement to further aid as a development farmer.
