Vol. 350 No. 2

Written Answers. - Army Pension Application.

546.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will approve an application for an Irish Army pension made by a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

An application for an Army service pension has not been received in my Department for the person referred to in the question. If such an application is made and details of Army number and service supplied I shall have the matter examined as quickly as possible.

Under the terms of the Defence Forces (Pensions) Schemes a pension may be granted, on discharge, to a long service soldier whose qualifying service is 21 years or more or to a long service soldier whose qualifying service is 15 years or more and less than 21 years and who is discharged on account of disability.
