The provision of sewerage facilities in its existing demountable housing stock is the responsibility of the local authority concerned. Under the terms of a scheme for the financing of improvement works to local authority dwellings, capital allocations by way of unsubsidised loans are available from my Department for the provision of water and sewerage facilities to rented local authority dwellings. It is open to individual local authorities to submit applications for funds under the terms of this scheme.
