asked the Minister for Education when she proposes to take a decision in regard to the construction of the proposed new national school at Lisheenkyle, Athenry; and if she will confirm that she does not propose to proceed with earlier suggestions to amalgamate Lisheenkyle and Coldwood national schools.

No formal decision has yet been taken by my Department on the question of the amalgamation of Lisheenkyle and Coldwood national schools, County Galway. The question of the future accommodation requirements of both these schools as independent units is being examined. As soon as a decision has been taken in the matter the chairman of the schools' boards of management will be advised without delay.
