In January 1981 the Office of Public Works approved the sketch plan for the additional classroom at Scoil Ide, Salthill, Galway, which had been prepared by the architect who had been engaged by the manager of the school. The sketch plan had been sent to the Department of Education for consideration at the time. In March 1984 the Department of Education indicated to the Office of Public Works that it had been decided to proceed with the project and asked if the original sketch scheme was suitable. It is necessary to consult with the manager's architect to confirm that there is no change in the requirements and this is being arranged.
It is not possible to say when invitation of tenders can be authorised but erection of the additional classroom will not be completed by September 1984.
