asked the Minister for Labour if he is presently considering a scheme put forward jointly by the rural home economics colleges for funding allocation under the Youth Employment Agency; if he is aware of the impending deadline for urgent consideration for such a scheme; and if he will consider favourably the case put forward by them, and their willingness to change their curriculum etc. in order to qualify as rural enterprise centres.

Revised proposals for the use of the rural home economics colleges as rural enterprise centres, which were put to me within the last few days, are being examined by my Department in consultation with the Youth Employment Agency and AnCO as a matter of urgency.
