Limerick East): Cavan County Council recently decided to proceed with the reconstruction of Cavan Courthouse and have applied for a loan to finance the project. Since local authority office accommodation as well as courthouse accommodation is involved in the proposed reconstruction the application has been made to the Departments of the Environment and of Justice. The application is being processed in consultation with the Minister for Finance. It is not possible, at this stage, to say when the new courthouse accommodation will be available for sittings.
