The cost of providing services for diagnosis, care and prevention of psychiatric ailments is estimated at £134,000,000 in 1984. A breakdown of this figure between in-patient, out-patient and community care services is not available.
Additional costs, which are not quantified, would arise, mainly in relation to general practitioner medical services and home nursing services.
