The person referred to in the question received her pension warrant for the month of May. She did not receive the pension warrant issued by my Department for the month of April and a duplicate warrant has been issued to her in respect of that month.

asked the Minister for Defence the reason for the delay in the payments of pension to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and when it will commence.
The person referred to in the question was notified by my Department on 17 February 1984 that payment of the Army pension awarded to him would not be made until he vacated married quarters at Custume Barracks, Athlone, and his liability for overholding charges had been ascertained. He vacated married quarters at the end of April and payment of arrears of pension from the date of discharge to the end of May 1984 less overholding charges has been made to him. Future payments of pension will be issued monthly in arrear.
