I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes who deals with the taxpayer's affairs has not received a claim to repayment of tax from the taxpayer in respect of any year since 1978-79. On the basis of information now available to the inspector, the taxpayer's liability for the year 1982-83 has been reviewed and an overpayment was revealed. Details of the overpayment have been sent to the taxpayer and a cheque in settlement will be issued to her shortly.
