The gross provision in the Forestry Vote for the current year is approximately £47 million, comprising £18.5 million capital and £28.5 million non-capital. A European Investment Bank loan of £34 million has recently been made to Ireland towards State afforestation and allied activities in the period 1982-84.
A sum of approximately £300,000 is being provided from the European Regional Development Fund (Quota Section) towards the cost of certain forest road construction and improvement works in the period 1983-87.
