Vol. 352 No. 3

Order of Business.

: It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 2, 3, 14—Vote 39 — 15, 16 and 14 — Votes 18, 19, 21 and 49 together and Votes 44 and 45 together. By agreement, the Dáil shall sit later than 9 p.m. today and not later than 11 p.m. and the hour at which business is to be interrupted shall be 10.30 p.m. There will be no Private Members' Business this week. Also, by agreement, the debate on Vote 39, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 2.30 p.m. and the Minister for Labour shall be called on to conclude not later than 2.15 p.m. Business shall be interrupted at 3.30 p.m., 5.30 p.m., 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. to take items Nos. 15, 16 and 14 — Votes 18, 19, 21 and 49 and in No. 14, also Votes 44 and 45. The Members moving the motions in respect of these Votes shall be called on to conclude not later than 8.15 p.m. and 10.15 p.m. respectively. Is the Order of Business agreed?

On the Order of Business, in view of the fact that I have now been elected a Member of the European Parliament, may I ask the Minister if he will make available to me at an early date a copy of the Cork task force report which has not yet been issued?

I do not think it arises on the Order of Business.

This question has been asked on the Order of Business before and we had replies from the Taoiseach. The precedent has been set.

I do not think it arises on the Order of Business. There must have been a parliamentary question about it.

I should like to ask the Minister for Communications and the Minister for Labour to intervene in the ongoing dispute in Dublin north-west which has left that part of the city without a bus service——

That does not arise on the Order of Business.

With the permission of the Chair, I wish to raise on the Adjournment the need for a decision by the Government to allow Aer Rianta to proceed with the construction of the east-west runway at Dublin Airport.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

In view of the fact that it is not in order for me to raise the matter I referred to in that form and as the Chair has ruled out of order a previous attempt to raise it on the Adjournment, may I call on the Minister for Communications to consider removing the monopoly from CIE regarding licensing——

That is not in order on the Order of Business.

I ask for permission to raise it on the Adjournment.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I should like to raise on the Adjournment the licensing of private buses to supply a service to the Finglas area which has been without such service for 18 months.

I wish to ask the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism, in view of his responsibility in the matter, if he will inform the House of the reasons why the administrator of the PMPA, Mr. Kelly, has decided to make redundant an additional 300 staff since the workforce has already been halved——

It does not arise on the Order of Business.

If the Ceann Comhairle is going to rule this matter out of order, thus not allowing the Minister to speak on it, may I ask that the matter be raised on the Adjournment?

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

With the permission of the Chair, I wish to raise on the Adjournment the allegations made by a prisoner in Mountjoy in a letter to me that post from Mountjoy to the public and to Members of the Oireachtas has been interfered with and has gone astray.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to know when it is proposed to take Report Stage of the Criminal Justice Bill and also when the Minister's amendments will be circulated.

It is proposed, subject to consultation between the relevant parties, that Report Stage of the Criminal Justice Bill will be taken next week.

When will the amendments be circulated?

The amendments will be circulated in good time to allow the participants in the debate an opportunity to consider them.

The day before.

With the permission of the Chair, I wish to give notice of my intention to submit the following Private Notice Question——

That is not necessary. The Deputy may submit it in the ordinary way through the office without giving notice in the House.

I ask permission to raise on the Adjournment the matter of the political prisoner, Nicky Kelly, in Portlaoise Prison.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

As you failed to accommodate me in eliciting a reply to my question regarding the Cork Task Force report, I wish to raise on the Adjournment the reason for the secrecy attached to this report.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

Will the amendments to Report Stage of the Criminal Justice Bill be circulated this week and, if so, will at least a week be given for the Opposition to consider them before they are taken in the House?

I understand from the Minister for Justice that these will be circulated tomorrow.

, Limerick East): I hope to provide the amendments to the spokesmen of the parties tomorrow night and they will be published and circulated either tomorrow night or the following morning.
