Members of the seven regional fisheries boards are elected at elections which are held every five years, the first such election having been held in December 1981. In addition, the Minister may appoint five members to each board.
The Central Fisheries Board consists of the chairman of each regional fisheries board and not less than four and not more than six members appointed by the Minister.
