Vol. 352 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

357.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a £1,000 new house grant and a £3,000 mortgage subsidy have not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when they will be paid.

A condition for payment of the new house grant and mortgage subsidy is that the applicant or his spouse must never previously have purchased or built a house at home or abroad. In this case the application was refused as the person named had purchased a house previously. The applicant has been so informed.

358.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £600 house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The applicant in this case is a county council tenant and she was requested by my Department in September 1983 to furnish evidence of the council's agreement to the carrying out of the proposed works. This information is still awaited and the Deputy was so informed recently.

359.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection for a mortgage grant and subsidy applied for some months ago will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy from the person named.
