Vol. 352 No. 10

Written Answers. - Meath Schools.

437.

asked the Minister for Education when plans will be completed for a secondary school (details supplied) in County Meath; and when it will go to tender.

It is not possible at this stage to state when plans will be completed for the proposed new second level school referred to by the Deputy or when it will go to tender. My Department have been unable to agree terms with the owner of the preferred site and are presently in contact with the owners of two alternative sites. Architectural planning will proceed immediately on acquisition of a site.

438.

asked the Minister for Education when the tender will be issued in relation to a school (details supplied) in County Meath.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that the detail design stage of the County Meath school project referred to by the Deputy is nearing completion. The question of inviting tenders for the project will be considered when this stage of architectural planning has been completed, and the school authorities will be advised.

439.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding a school (details supplied) in County Meath; and when the work will go to tender.

Architectural planning of the new school referred to by the Deputy is at an advanced stage and my Department now awaits the submission of bills of quantities and tender documents for the project by the County Meath Vocational Education Committee. It is not yet possible to say when the project may proceed to tender. Consideration of this aspect will not arise until the planning process has been completed.
