Vol. 352 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

362.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant was refused in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if it will be reconsidered in view of the circumstances.

The applicant in this case was informed by letter on 21 July 1983 that grant and subsidy could not be allowed as the area of the particular house as shown on plans submitted was in excess of the grant limit of 125sq. metres (1,346 sq. ft.) If a smaller house was actually constructed the applicant should submit details, including plans, so that the matter can be further considered.

363.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the £5,000 payment to tenants vacating local authority houses will be introduced.

Details of the scheme are being finalised as a matter of urgency in my Department and will be announced as soon as possible.

364.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

In the absence of the applicant's full name it has not been possible to trace any record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant in this case.
