Vol. 353 No. 1

Written Answers. - Fort Templebready (Cork).

442.

asked the Minister for Defence the cost of tarmacing the road in Fort Templebready, County Cork.

443.

asked the Minister for Defence the cost of refurbishing and reequipping Fort Templebready, County Cork; and the details of work carried out there; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 442 and 443 together.

In addition to minor maintenance carried out at the fort in recent years, an expenditure of £521 was incurred on the installation of a bulk gas supply and £400 was spent on fencing works. Further fencing costing about £2,000 is planned. A contract for the laying of bitumen macadam on the roads at the fort has been placed following competitive tendering. It would be contrary to established practice to reveal the contract price.
