Vol. 353 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hip Replacement Operation.

517.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in having a person (details supplied) in County Cork called for a hip replacement operation in St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cork and when the operation will take place.

I understand from the Southern Health Board that the name of the person (details supplied) in County Cork was placed on the waiting list for a hip replacement operation at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cork, on 7 May 1984. It is not possible to say precisely when the operation will take place. However, the health board have indicated that, based on average experience, the further waiting period would probably be one or two months.
