The information sought by the Deputy is contained in the following tabular statement. The Local Government (Financial Provisions) (No. 2) Act, 1983, did not become law until July 1983 and this, and other factors which delayed the issue of demands for domestic water charges in urban areas in 1983, had a material influence on the amounts collected by the end of that year. Collection of 1983 arrears continues in 1984.
