Vol. 353 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

671.

asked the Minister for Education if she will grant, on reconsideration, school transport to Killarney Vocational School to persons (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter in view of the fact that there is room for both pupils in the school bus.

Under the terms of the post-primary school transport scheme, recognised post-primary pupils, in order to qualify for school transport facilities, must live at least three miles from their nearest adequate post-primary school. The pupils in question live within three miles of a fully adequate post-primary school for girls. Accordingly, they do not qualify for transport facilities to Killarney Vocational School.
