Legislation providing for a farm tax, as proposed in the National Economic Plan, "Building on Reality", is being prepared in my Department. Detailed proposals concerning all aspects of the proposed tax, including the determination of adjusted acreage, will be submitted to the Government for decision in due course. Deputies will have an opportunity to discuss the full proposals when the Bill is presented to the House.
