asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a grant under the farm modernisation scheme has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow, where the work has been carried out according to the instructions of the Farm Development Office.

The local office of the Department has not yet been notified that the approved work has been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed the grant will be paid without delay.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a 1984 ewe hogget subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named has been requested on two occasions to forward his P.60 or income tax assessment form for tax year ended 5 April 1984 to his local livestock office. When he does so, his 1984 sheep headage application will be processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons cattle headage payments have not been paid to a small farmer (details supplied) in County Galway; the total amount and the date that these payments will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Payment of 1984 cattle headage grants in the disadvantaged areas are expected to begin at the end of November or early December and will continue for a period of two months.

The person named will be paid £412.80 in cattle headage grants as soon as the batch which includes his payment is processed.
