The provision of this item is a matter for decision by the health board under section 59 of the Health Act, 1970, and any assistance towards the provision of an appliance to a person with limited eligibility is normally based on medical need and the individual's circumstances. The Department is in contact with the health board and it is hoped that the matter will be resolved shortly.
