Vol. 354 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ultra Sonic Treatment.

622.

asked the Minister for Health the number of radiographers trained in the use of ultra-sound equipment available for employment; the number employed in each health board area; and the approximate average number of hours of employment engaged in ultra sonic treatment by such radiographers.

Thirty radiographers have successfully completed the diploma course in ultra sound conducted by the School of Radiography, St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. The remaining information requested is not available in my Department.

623.

asked the Minister for Health the location and number of ultra sound units in each health board area; the cost to date of each such installation; the number of births recorded in each centre since installation; and the approximate average hours of use of each unit since installation.

Information of this nature is not available on a routine basis in my Department. I suggest that the Deputy might seek the information from the chief executive officers of the health boards.
