Vol. 354 No. 2

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Dismissal.

617.

asked the Minister for Defence the reasons a person (details supplied) was dismissed from the Defence Forces in June 1969; and if there is any procedure for appeal open to him as he wishes to clear his name.

The person referred to, who was an officer of the Permanent Defence Force, was retired in the interests of the service by the President, acting on the advice of the Government, pursuant to subsection 47(2) of the Defence Act, 1954, and subparagraph 18(1)(f) of Defence Force Regulations A.15. The question of an appeal procedure in such a case does not arise.
