Vol. 354 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

632.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that tax repayment claims on the grounds of unemployment are normally dealt with at four-weekly intervals by reference to earnings to date of cessation of employment and cumulative tax-free allowances to date of claim.

The taxpayer ceased employment in mid-October 1984 and submitted a tax repayment claim to the inspector of taxes on 11 November. The inspector wrote to her on 15 November for the details required to determine her tax-free allowance entitlement for the current year, 1984-85. On receipt of these details, the claim will be processed and any refund found due will be made.
