asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a land reclamation grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.
The person concerned is a development farmer who failed to submit an extract of farm accounts for each year of his plan. Accordingly the grant paid last August was calculated at the reduced rate and deductions were made for grants paid earlier at the development rate.

The application in this case was recently received and arrangements are being made for an early visit to the applicant. It would seem from the Deputy's question that the work has been carried out without the prior written approval of the Farm Development Service. If this is the case the project does not qualify for aid.
