asked the Minister for the Environment the reason his Department continue to refuse to pay a house improvement grant under the old scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford, as she claims that all works were completed and details submitted to his Department well in advance of 30 June 1982; if he will accept that certain irregularities took place in his Department at that time and files have been misplaced; and if he is prepared to reconsider this case in any way in view of the fact that this person states that all information was submitted to his Department in time.
The final date for receipt of claims for payment under the particular scheme was 30 June 1981 in accordance with the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended). As the claim for payment was not received in this case until 23 September 1982 the application had to be refused. In the circumstances, there is no basis for reconsideration of the case.
