The relevant amount is approximately £18,640. This covers (a) foreign travel; (b) subsistence expenses in Ireland; and (c) use of private car under arrangements introduced in November 1983.

The relevant amount in respect of each of the two drivers concerned is £10,974 and £10,920 respectively.
