Limerick East): The cost of Garda services provided as part of the neighbourhood watch scheme is met from the overall financial allocation in the Garda Síochána Vote. There is in fact little or no additional direct cost involved for the Garda Síochána — there may be a small indirect cost on information leaflets etc. next year — and a separate provision in the Estimates would not be warranted or in accordance with normal practice relating to the presentation of the Estimates.
