Vol. 354 No. 12

Written Answers. - Importation of Concrete Products.

116.

asked the Minister for Finance if special customs arrangements are in force at Ballyconnell, County Cavan, which assist importation of concrete products.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that authorisations may be obtained for the importation of certain goods, including concrete products, at Ballyconnell, on the concessionary Derrylin-Ballyconnell route, under an arrangement introduced in 1979. Regular importers of building materials (including concrete products) from Northern Ireland, whether at Ballyconnell or at other authorised entry points on the land frontier, are allowed, subject to provision of suitable security, to present a single customs declaration covering each day's imports.
