): Following the announcement in Building on Reality that a National Lottery is to be set up, the Government directed that consultants be hired to advise on the most appropriate form of lottery for this country. The consultancy study was completed very recently and is at present being studied. I will be making proposals to the Government shortly about the best way to proceed in this matter.
It would not be possible to indicate when the first draw will be held until the Government have considered the proposals which I will be putting to them.
