Vol. 356 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Donegal Water Schemes.

452.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will approve a feasibility report on Letterkenny joint water supply scheme related to Lough Salt source supplementation.

Donegal County Council submitted a report to my Department in February 1984 outlining a number of possible measures to supplement the existing supply to Letterkenny town and its environs. Approval issued in May 1984 to one of the proposals which involves an investigation into ground water resources at three locations adjacent to Letterkenny. A further report has been requested in relation to the remaining proposals which include proposed works to supplement the Lough Salt catchment. This report is awaited in my Department. Further consideration will be given to the remaining measures when this further report is received.

453.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position on the proposed Milford/Kerrykeel water supply scheme. Stage II County Donegal, as the preliminary report was sent to his Department on 28 June 1983.

Preliminary proposals for the Milford/Kerrykeel water supply scheme are under examination in my Department at present. A decision on the proposals will issue to the local authority shortly.
