Corresponding information is not readily available on staff numbers employed in 1974 and 1981. I will forward it to the Deputy as soon as it is available.
Will the Minister say if there has been a decrease in the number between 1981 and 1984?
As far as I know the number has increased from 1974.
What is the position with regard to the period 1981 to 1984?
My general interpretation is that it is at a constant level. There was a rapid increase in 1977 and 1978.
Is the Minister saying there has been no decrease between 1981 and 1984?
I have not the exact numbers before me. I will check on the matter and send a table to the Deputy giving the relevant data.
