There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. The new house grant was paid on 17 April 1985. Arrangements are being made for early payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in replying to Deputy Jackie Fahey's letter sent to his Department in early March 1985, on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who is anxious to obtain a new house grant.
I presume that the Deputy is referring to the letter which he wrote on the 25 March on behalf of the person named. A reply to this letter will issue shortly.
